INTRODUCTION

In 1978, I had the opportunity to attend the Basic Youth Advanced seminar on Spiritual Gifts conducted by Bill Gothard. The seminar was free to alumni but transportation to Los Angeles from Alberta Canada was outside of my financial ability to attend.

I pastored a small church and they were not able to supply the funds for me to attend. One of my deacons, who was a farmer, offered to help by hiring me to clean out a chicken coop that he could not get his sons to do. He told me if I agreed, He would make sure that I could go. As I told everyone at the seminar, “Chicken manure never smelled sweeter.” It was worth any sacrifice I could have made and the benefits to others cannot be measured.

Since that time I have gained much knowledge and experience and have put together this book in order to further being a blessing to others.

I have discovered that there have been many other attempts to teach on Spiritual gifts but they are confusing and leave others wandering in order to decide between many choices. This book teaches that we have only one gift and taking that position leaves us more clearly focused on our ministries.
