    book excerpt

    1. In the Beginning God: In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. The first name of God used in the Bible is Elohim. The Early alphabet, also called Proto-Sinaitic and Proto-Semitic, is the pictographic script, which is the script that you are referring to. We know this alphabet existed in 2,000 BC and is found on such inscriptions as the Wadi El-Hohl inscriptions and those found in Serabit El-Khadim in the Sinai Peninsula. It is called a pictographic alphabet because each letter is a picture of something. (Jeff Benner, 20+ years teaching Biblical Hebrew and Bible interpretation. Updated Dec 20, 2017) The Hebrew letters and their pictographs that make up the name Elohim are as follows: Aleph – God Himself, the most powerful One represented as an ox head Lamed – The shepherd, represented by the symbol of a shepherd's staff Heh – Behold, look at, depicted as a stick figure with hands raised up Yod/Yud – The mighty work, shown as a hand Mem – Chaos depicted as waters The ancient pictogram reads like this: “God, the most powerful creator, is also our loving Shepherd. Behold! It is He who calmed the waters and brought order out of chaos!” “And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.” Genesis 1:7 “But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!” Matthew 8:27 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1 “I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” John 10:11 In its ancient pictographic representation, the word Elohim also points directly to Yeshua Ha’ Mashiach, declaring the biblical truth that Yeshua/Jesus is none other than “God with us.” 2. Genesis 1:27 – God created a man and a woman: “So, God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” God created just two genders, a man and a woman. From them, all the population of the whole world would come. There are not more genders of the human race, no matter how a person feels. God-given biology (DNA) is the final determination. 3. Genesis 1:28 - The first commandment in the Bible: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” After creating a perfect world for Adam & Eve, God actually commanded them to have sexual relations to fill the earth, which they did. By the time of Noah’s flood, their descendants number somewhere around seven billion. Of course, they had the advantage of longer life spans, often exceeding 900 years. They also lived in a nearly perfect world, as the effect of sin had not fully metastasized. After Adam sinned, the whole environment became cursed and rapidly became more evil until God brought judgment. 4. Genesis 2:7-8, 21-22 – No Belly Buttons: “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” And: Genesis 2:21-22: “And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” In Genesis chapters one and two, God describes how he made man and woman. Initially, the earth’s population consisted of one man, made from dust, and one woman made from the man’s rib. Since God created Adam from dust and He made Eve from Adam’s rib, they would not have had a belly button as no umbilical cord connection was needed between them and their creator. Then in Genesis four, we read about the first births in the human race. “And Adam knew Eve, his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bares his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.” In between their making and their sons' birth, Adam and Eve had the snake incident that plunged the world into sin and separation from the Holy God that made them. In Genesis three, God pronounced judgment and promised a savior. “And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” Though wounded, Jesus would deliver a fatal crushing blow to Satan. However, the seeds of sin had been planted deep in mankind. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.” Romans 6:23 12. Genesis 4:1-7 – The First man born was a murderer: “And Adam knew Eve, his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. And she again bares his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in the process of time, it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect un
