Would you like a romp through everyday adventures – loaded with humor – that clearly leads to God’s Hand? Here we have a series of adventures/misadventures – that even has a little rascal in the story – but unmistakably shows a divine plan. We find God in the most unlikely places! A recent comment (on Amazon) has the headline of `This is a Handbook for Enjoying Life`. This is a better description that I could come up with. But, it does illustrate what I had hoped to achieve. The entire book is written drawing from real life experiences – and learning and often laughing from them. Too many of us take life so seriously that we miss out on the humor that should accompany many of life’s episodes. It is written in the belief that we (most of us) are not cloistered individuals and we are imperfect – to say the least. If we can truly acknowledge that – then we look at life with a wry smile – and life takes on a different aspect. We weren’t born saints – and likely will never reach that status. But, we were born to live life to the fullest; each in our own unique sty le – and learning as we go. That is why – in this Christian book – you will actually find a chapter on `Flirting` as well as other socially connected subjects. After all, this is where we live and learn – and create memories The truth is that we each have a little scalawag to contend with, covered in the chapter `The Rascal Within`. You will find that a particularly fun read. The trick is to let the little rascal out for a brief moment – that is where memoires are often made – and then stuff him back to some remote corner of our mind – where he can’t create any more mischief. The entire little handbook was written with a light touch – and draws insights from many different emotional bases. When it was first published – I actually received a phone call from a reader that stated she went from laughter to tears within the first two chapters. As the author – I feel it is our absolute duty to experience as many of life’s offerings as possible. I envision God as someday judging us – by a question like: “I gave many presents to you. Did you open them? Did you enjoy them? Did you learn from them?” Those presents take many forms – from enjoying sunsets to finding and loving the person that God had chosen for you for your life’s journey. That theme is covered in the `Lessons of Life – Summary’ and it is a meaningful set of questions. I read a book recently that stated that the only way to escape the ups and downs of life is to stay home and never leave. It went on to say that even than – you could slip and drown in your own bathtub. And if that did happen – it would serve you right! When you accept 100% that God has a boatload of experiences for us to savor – some not always pleasant – but always in a learning mode – life takes on a whole different meaning. The more we learn – the more we can say, `We have lived`. In the chapter entitled `Your Treasure Chest` - it dwells on the fact (in my mind, there is no doubt it is a fact) that our Treasure Chest is full of memories and lessons learned. The dynamite point – is that we are in charge of what we put in – or allow to be inserted – in this fabulous Treasure Chest. Because, the sum total of the Treasure Chest – is who we are! When you add liberal does of laughter, chuckles – you have the flavor of the book – Lessons of Life – The Path to God.
