book excerpt
Verse 1
No church or cult, do I ask you to join
I need not your things, nor require your coin
It is only your attention, I ask as a toll
My only intention, to show you your soul
Verse 2
For always we banter, the word about
Unaware of the source, we dread the doubt
At first it was sacred and rarely used
Now it is common and often abused
Verse 3
With reckless abandon, we confess admiration
We scoff at the effort, of art’s imitation
This thing then that, claim pieces of heart
The hole they don't fill, will tear you apart
Verse 4
To waste it on things, is a loss undeserved
To life you must give, your love unreserved
From smallest to largest, a heart it still beats
To hold and adore, is the greatest of feats
Verse 5
All of us can, yet so few of us do
The courage it takes, to decide to be you
The only true sadness, is wasted affection
Follow your heart, it knows the direction
Verse 6
Material wants, without fail dim your sight
Have faith in your soul and the power of light
Take what you need and seek nothing more
For though you have things, your heart will be poor
Verse 7
Of joyful tidings, do I speak
I know not the hour, the day or the week
The end of oppression, is now within sight
If we abandon our hate and in faith reunite
Verse 8
It is only love, that presides from above
The Spirit, The Father, The Mother, The Son
Within every heart, lies a corner that speaks
It whispers that love, is all that it seeks
Verse 9
Misled from birth, we forget how to hear
We lose years, to find it was always near
Not knowing for what, we strive and we yearn
Without it we stumble, each way that we turn
Verse 10
Your heart knows dimensions, as yet undiscovered
Within them wait those, who call you beloved
You are never alone, despite all you were told
They walk your whole life and answers they hold
Verse 11
Unaware of their presence, you confuse the task
They exist only to guide, but first you must ask
Love is their mantra and forever they fight
To show you the truth, the love and the light
Verse 12
It is love that inspires, an enlightened soul
To see through the lies and carry no hole
To walk down a road, that is yet to be walked
To utter the words, that are yet to be talked
Verse 13
In a dream of reality, it's so hard to wake
Great care and great patience, one must take
Always it seems, the lie has been spoken
The time it has come, for the spell to be broken
Verse 14
It is within your power, to forgive and forget
The hurts, the lies, the hate, the regret
In confusion we fly, just like moths to a flame
As though we have learned, to welcome the pain
Verse 15
Choose to let go, of the hate in your heart
It is only your burden and keeps you apart
In all of its forms, you are given to choose
To give without want, leaves you nothing to lose
