    book excerpt

Today, you may be more focused on your spiritual journey than you have been at any time in the past . Or it may be that you feel you are not as focused as you should be and would like to change that . At a certain point in the journey, some may decide to quit before reaching the envisioned destination . If you are at that point, have you considered the importance of holding fast to a commitment? Entering into a spiritual journey is more than a choice; it is a commitment, a covenant between us and God to make our journey more about Him than about ourselves . We are responding to God’s love, not initiating it . God sent His Son on a journey already knowing the end from the beginning and the encounters along the way . If you knew exactly what would happen along your journey, would you even begin it? Would you send your child on a journey if you knew of the exact dangers along the way? God also knew the after-effect of sending His Son into the world: that many would be saved on account of Messiah’s death . His approach is always from an eternal perspective, just as He is eternal; anything else is temporary . Today, if you are feeling discouraged, consider the long-term benefits of staying the course. Remember that He who calls you will sustain you for the journey and reward you for eternity . For “He will enable you to hold out until the end and thus be blameless on the Day of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah” (1 Cor . 1:8, CJB) .
