1. We need to walk in Gods ways because all God will do in our lives is based on our obedience to his words. Exodus 34:27 says Then the LORD said to Moses, "Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.” Gods covenant with Israel and his spiritual Israel called by Christ is based on obedience to his words. Just like Moses, Jesus came to call a nation to God who will make him their Lord and Savior and live a life of Obedience and Submission to God .As we follow Jesus Christ the messiah we are following God's way. This is because Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life; No one can come to the father except through him. In Deuteronomy 5:33 God gave clear instructions saying “Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess. 2.We need to walk in Gods ways , because God's blessings are conditional. In Leviticus 26:3-12 God said " 'If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, 4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit. 5 Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land. 6 "'I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove savage beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country. 7 You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you. 8 Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you. 9 " 'I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you . 10 You will still be eating last year's harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. 11 I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you. 12 I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. 13 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high. Kindly note the word if, at the beginning of Gods promise to bless, financially, spiritually, and materially. God promised victory, prosperity, favor, liberty, abundance and fruitfulness on the following condition, 'If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands. Many Christians short change themselves of long life ,prosperity, abundance, victory etc by disobedience to God by not walking in his ways and following his principles .This book , identifies that Gods ways are different from mans ways . God has the ways of giving a Christian victory , his own way of prosperity , his own ways of salvation , his ways of walking in righteousness. The worlds ways are counterfeit to Gods ways, they are imitations and not the real thing. That is why a Christian needs instructions on walking in Gods ways and indeed needs to be able to identify Gods ways.
