We Are The Light Titilope oluwadare
We see Jesus talking about the assignment of the Christians. He says
You are the light of the world-like a city on a mountain, [a city set on a hill] glowing in the night for all to see.
IN OTHER WORDS WE ARE TO BE THE EXAMPLES, AND THE ILLUMINATORS, THE
ONES HAVING POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON THE
WORLD IN WHICH WE LIVE.GIVING DIRECTION
TO THE BLIND AND THE CONFUSED. WE MUST
BE THE ONES SHINNING IN THE DARKNESS ALL
AROUND US. If Christians make no effort to
affect the world around them BY BEING
DIFFERENT, they are of little value to God. If we
are too much like the world, we are worthless
as “Light.”

book excerpt
GOD WANTS US TO BE A LIGHT TO THE WORLD.
Jesus says can you hide a city that is sitting on
top of a hill? Its light at night can be seen for
miles. If we live for Christ, we will glow like lights,
showing others what Christ is like. We hide our
light by (1) being quiet when we should speak,
(2) going along with the crowd and worldliness,
(3) denying the light by materialism, seeking of
power and popularity amongst men (4) letting
sin dim our light, (5) not explaining our light to
others, or (6) ignoring the needs of others by
being selfish and putting self on the throne of
our lives. Be a beacon of truth-don't shut your
light off from the rest of the world.
The tragedy of the situation is that the world has
virtually snuffed the light out of the church.
Check most churches, they are built after the
world system, Materialism, pursuit of money,
fame, power and pleasure. Much entertainment
little spirituality , much focus on mans desires
and less on Gods requirements , sermons tilted
and unbalanced to ensure popularity and
acceptance by the innocent people who do not
know better and who are being milked dry while
the prophets are growing fat .
When the church looses its Light, when the
church stops standing out, when the church
stops being the beacon and light , the city set on
the hill that brings light unto all that is in the
house , the whole house slides into darkness .
That is the present situation in our generation.
And how great is the darkness.
Throughout all the ages the world advances
forcefully against the church to snuff out its
light by worldliness, the greatest battle
confronting the church is worldliness. As Adam
and Eve where tempted by worldliness, the
Godless human system that feeds on desires,
pleasure, materialism . The same temptation is
still being used today to make us drop from the
high ground. It says if it looks good, desire it, It
must be good for you , it will make you better.
Why not? Has God really said? Why can we
not lower his standards? Truly this looks
Good, How can it then be wrong?...........We are the light of the world. We are the city on
the hill, we are to stand out, give direction to a
dying world, illuminate them, let them see,
open blind eyes, we are to allow God to put us
on our stand , every one of us has unique stands
, some are examples of Christian business men,
others are examples of , single Christians ,
examples of Christian teenagers , examples of
women ,examples of Christian wives and
mothers, examples of Christian husbands and
fathers,examples of Christian Managing
Directors, Example of Christian prime ministers
etc , every where we are to put on stand we are............We know we have a mission to shine, but we
must not be ignorant of what we are up against.
We are up against Gross darkness
