The lesson entitled "Problem or Solution: Pick One!" focuses on Season 1, Episode 2, in which Jerry has a friend (Joel) with whom he feels he needs to do some "Male Unbonding." However, Jerry chooses to keep the friend. During the class, members create a list of things Joel did that make Jerry uncomfortable. I offer the following questions for discussion at the close of the class/ group meeting:
What do you think will have to happen for it to be bad enough for Jerry to take a stand on the issue?
Does God promise that all our problems will be solved or go away simply because we are people of faith?
And finally, for personal reflection:
Who are the Joels in our lives? What are the personal problems we have chosen not to solve? Perhaps the solution really is worse than the problem. Perhaps it isn't. Do we need to make a conscious decision one way or the other?
