    book excerpt

Day 7 PERFECT– by Stephanie White Revelation 3:2 AMP Rouse yourselves and keep awake, and strengthen and invigorate what remains and is on the point of dying; for I have not found a thing that you have done [any work of yours] meeting the requirements of My God or perfect in His sight. We really do need to wake up and realize what we are doing. Are we producing Spiritual fruit or are we producing dead fruit? This church in Revelation did many “works,” but Jesus said that not one of them was Spiritual. This should make us sit up and take notice. Their works appeared Spiritual, but appearances do not matter to God. God is concerned with the origin of our works – are they of the flesh or are they of the Spirit – that is what matters to God. God’s requirement is faith. Our works must be done by faith; they must be the fruit of abiding in the Word. Too many times we are far too concerned with how things appear. We can do so many things that look Spiritual to the naked eye; we can impress many with our outward show, but that is not what really matters. We need to rouse ourselves – we need to open our eyes to the truth of the Word. The Word is clear when it proclaims that apart from Christ we can do nothing. John 15:5 AMP I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me [cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. If we want to produce fruit that has Spiritual value then we must learn to abide in the Word; we must live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. The Word is our Seed; the Word is our Spiritual source. Day 8 NIGHT AND DAY– by Kathleen Higham Every morning and every night to His promises I hold tight. No matter where my heart shall go—as the dawn sweetly opens up my eyes or the inky black of night should quietly close my weary eyes; He knows. Truth, His truth is left behind for me to touch, and I need Him, need Him, oh so much. Father God for Your peace and joy I pray. Night and Day… Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray When glistening drops of rain shall fall But in a timely manner leaves behind its truth We who live and breathe and need so much To feel the blessed rain that passed this way Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray. Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray When the sun appears bright and warm But in a timely manner leaves behind its truth We who live and breathe and need so much To feel the blessed sun shine down a ray Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray. Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray When the night shadows harkens to the dark But in a timely manner leaves behind its truth We who live and breathe and need so much To feel the blessed night when down we lay Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray.   Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray When another morning steeps inside this heart But in a timely manner leaves behind its truth We who live and breathe and need so much To feel the blessed morning then humbly say Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray. Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray When the twilight ambles to a glorious day But in a timely manner leaves behind its truth We who live and breathe and need so much To feel the blessed gifts of night and day Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray. Father God, for Your peace and joy I pray When silence waits, lingers, then reaches down But in a timely manner leaves behind its truth We who live and breathe and need so much To hear the blessed Father speak, “I heard you pray” Now peace and joy abounds to us, night and day.
